Movie Review -

Star Rating

Hichki story starts with a job interview scene of Naina Mathur (Rani Mukerji) for a teacher. Interviewers are getting pleased as she having many degrees but suddenly her clicking sound starts. Then she explains about her disease - Tourette syndrome. After knowing about her problem they also suggested to try different profession other than teaching but teaching is Naina’s dream job. So, Naina decides to keep trying. This way Naina’s passion and dedication about her profession has been shown nicely.

From the beginning of the movie Rani Mukerji establishes a strong impression.  She performs the role of Naina Mathur with extraordinary proficiency and ensures that you can’t even take your eyes off her for a moment. She successfully carries emotions throughout the movie. She shows some unconventional teaching technique in this movie, which will amaze you.

The movie scene where Rani Mukerji breaks down at a vital moment, you become speechless. Performing role of a differently abled person is difficult job but she has done it perfectly.  Casting director Shanoo Sharma also has done a great job. Harsh Mayar as Aatish who demonstrates a new start. Sachin Pilgaonkar and Supriya Pilgaonkar also show decent job. Hichki is Siddharth Malhotra's first directed movie and he has wonderful job despite of some nominal issues.

When talking about faults, yes some points are there. Like, Rani Mukerji teaches science subjects and math but here no mention is for other subjects. Movie’s other weakness is songs. Combination of good songs could add some more entertainment.
