Star Rating

Basically Manmarziyaan is love triangle story. Anurag Kashyap has shown new and trendy love story of today’s youngsters’. The time has changed now. New generation doesn’t love in filmy style and they don’t even ready to give importance to marriage. Anurag has tried to present this free and complex love relationship story in this movie.

Amritsar resident former hockey player and tomboy Rumi now runs a sport accessories shop and Vicky is a professional DJ. Rumi and Vicky love each-other. They like to say love as Fire because body pleasure is involved there. They continue their body passionate love relationship story happily. But as every bollywood happy story ends with some unexpected surprise, same incident happened here also. Like any other bollywood stories, here also Rumi’s family blocks their way of love-relationship. Then they plan to run away but still the surprise is waiting for Rumi. Rumi finds that Vicky doesn’t have any plan for their future and he not even wants to marry her. Then their love story ends. Now it’s time for Robbie’s entry in this story as a gentle and responsible person. Rumi has to marry Robbie due to family pressure. Then tension and excitement starts for Rumi – husband or lover - who will be her choice.

Overall this movie is quite enjoyable though you can feel the bollywood stereotype incidents in this movie. Comedy & fun is present in whole movie. Apart from these art direction, cinematography, costume design etc have made this movie realistic and enjoyable. Nice sceneries, colorful houses & markets and obviously interesting story are the features which make this movie enjoyable for audiences. Locations like houses of hero- heroine and surrounding architectures are realistic and normal. Camera work is also good.

Music is quite confusing. This songs are good and will be great for parties but little irrelevant with movie scenes. Taapsee Pannu is the main attraction of this movie. Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan have done good job but script has given priority to Taapsee only. And obviously Taapsee has taken this opportunity and done great work. Vicky Kaushal has also done well to present his character as a confused-ultra modern DJ artist.   It’s good see Abhishek after long time in movie. His acting performance in this movie is also good. Overall watching experience of this movie is good and enjoyable.
